Book Selection for October: Defending Britta Stein by Ronald Balson (2021)

Defending Britta Stein is a story of bravery, betrayal and redemption. Balson’s brilliantly imagined novel is part courtroom drama, part historical reckoning. Set in Chicago in 2018 Ole Henryks, a popular restaurateur, is about to be honoured by the Danish/American Association for his many civic and charitable contributions .He is also well known for his heroic actions in Nazi occupied Denmark during WW11……..Britta Stein however, does not agree.
