Is Love the Essence of Judaism?”
Rabbi Kliel Rose
Spiritual Leader
Congregation Etz Chayim

The teaching of Shavuot emphasizes that Judaism is fundamentally about love, rather than just law or justice. It argues that love should be at the core of the Jewish faith and practice, influencing various aspects of Jewish life, from personal relationships to social justice. In this session, we will look at core Jewish texts that speak to the essential idea that Judaism is anchored in love.

Singing in the Round
Cantor Tracy Kasner and Kevin McIntyre
Congregation Etz Chayim

The Power of Communal Prayer Together we will discover how energy and melody creates a prayer circle that transcends to a spiritual world.

The Kabbalah of Creation

Join Rabbi Mass for a journey through sacred texts, cosmic symbols, and timeless questions about existence, discovering answers in a breathtaking new light.

Shavuot: Mount Sinai and the Covenants
Rabbi Allan Finkel
Rabbi Emeritus
Temple Shalom

As a Jewish people, we are often described as B'nai Brit, the children of the covenant. Let's explore what happened at Mount Sinai and the covenants that were established in that moment -- three covenants that are as relevant to us today as Jews as they were way back then.

Traditional Women’s Rituals
Myriam Saitman
Rabbinic Student
Temple Shalom

A look at rituals from a Jewish lens, with a focus on challah and candles as ways of female spiritual expression.

Jewish Memory and Dementia Care
Rabbanit Dorit Kosmin-Rose
Spiritual Health Practitioner
Saul and Claribel Simkin Centre

When a loved one is experiencing decline in memory, reasoning, or other thinking skills, it is challenging to know how to help them find connection.  Luckily, our Jewish life contains a wealth of avenues for connecting to one’s inner spiritual life throughout the dementia journey. Rabbanit Dorit will provide a hands on experience of how a session called Nurturing Neshama can open one to experiencing joyful memories.  We will also have an opportunity to reflect on how Jewish practices and perspectives teach us to be supportive caregivers.
