Shabbat Across Winnipeg - Two Congregations Under One Roof

Join Congregations Shaarey Zedek and Temple Shalom for Shabbat Across Winnipeg. In honour of International Women’s Day, the evening will begin with all women led musical Kabbalat Shabbat service with Cantor Leslie Emery, Cantorial Soloist Janet Pelletier Goetze, Sherry Wolfe Elazar, and Tali Millo, featuring music composed by females. Following the service, we will join together for a delicious Kosher Shabbat dinner. Limmud guest speaker and internationally recognized transformational leader and creator, Tracey Erin Smith, will make a presentation on the topic "The Power of Our Stories" followed by dessert.

Kabbalat Shabbat Service

With Cantor Leslie Emery and Cantorial Soloist Janet Pelletier Goetze, Sherry Wolfe Elazar, and Tali Millo, as we also celebrate International Women's Day. Everyone is welcome. Best enjoyed in-person, live streaming available — broadcasting on the Shaarey Zedek YouTube Channel, Facebook Page, and Website.

A beautiful Kosher Shabbat plated dinner catered by Shaarey Zedek

Entrée Selection:
• Option One - SALMON Entrée
— Oven Roasted Salmon with duo of Red and Yellow Pepper Sauces — $38.00 per Person
• Option Two - VEGETARIAN Entrée — Mediterranean Ratatouille over Couscous  – $34.50

Each entrée comes with a Mixed Greens and Butter Lettuce Salad with Strawberries, Mandarin Oranges, Red Onions and Craisins tossed in a Raspberry Poppy Seed Vinaigrette; Roasted Garlic and Herb Mashed Potatoes; Honey and Dill Glazed Carrots; Grilled Asparagus; Refreshments; Dessert Buffet.

Guest speaker and Limmud presenter: Tracey Erin Smith, internationally recognized transformational leader and creator, speaking on the topic "The Power of our Stories".

About the Speaker: Tracey Erin Smith is an internationally recognized transformational leader and creator. She is the founder of SOULO Theatre, originating in Toronto, with workshops in New York City, Tel Aviv, San Francisco, Vancouver, and the UK. Tracey is also an award-winning solo performer (‘The Burning Bush!’ Limmud New York), instructor (Toronto Metropolitan University), director (Narrow Bridge at WJT), and a thought leader employing personal stories for transformation (The Parliament of the World’s Religions). In January, Tracey was honoured with the INSPIRE Lifetime Achievement Award for her significant contributions to better the lives in the LGBTQ2S+ Community.  Tracey’s work has been seen Off-Broadway and on stages across Canada and in several countries, and  she received a Broadway World Award (NYC) for her solo show Memento Mori. She has twice won the Diamond First Place Award for Best Theatre Instructor (The Toronto Star). Tracey is hard at work on her first book, SOULO: The Ministry of Stories, due out in the fall of 2024. Tracey lives in Calgary and co-stewards the beautiful www.birchdalelake.com in Nova Scotia with her partner Sarah Garton Stanley.
